Electric vehicle Expo at Automechanika: driving towards Zero-Carbon Transportation

Frankfurt am Main, 18 June 2024. Manufacturers of electric vehicles, among them new brands from Asia, are presenting themselves for the first time at the leading international business platform for the automotive aftermarket in Frankfurt, which covers the entire value chain of the automotive industry. Hosted by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Automotive Sub-council (CCPIT-Auto), the B2B event "Electric Vehicle Expo at Automechanika" (EVA) mirrors the rising demand for electric cars and new sales markets which offer interesting additional business for industry, workshops and dealers.

Olaf Mußhoff, Director Automechanika Frankfurt explains: " Automechanika Frankfurt is the innovation platform to present products and solutions for sustainable and zero emission mobility. With the new B2B event ‘Electric Vehicle Expo at Automechanika’ in Hall 12.1, Automechanika Frankfurt offers new manufacturers of electric vehicles the opportunity to present and familiarize with their brands and build trust." EVA will showcase the cutting-edge electric vehicle products and technologies, offer a complete range of electric vehicle brands, and an impressive display of automotive designs under one roof. Trade visitors of Automechanika from industry, workshops and trade will have the opportunity to get to know new car manufacturers of electric vehicles in the mid-price segment and explore opportunities for cooperation.

The internationality of the trade fair is unrivalled. Trade visitors from 175 countries and regions attended the last event, 28% of whom came from the trade and 36% from the repair shop and service station sector; many of them with decision-making authority.

Michael Johannes, Vice President Mobility & Logistics, adds: "Thanks to our involvement in Asia for 30 years and successful events there, we have excellent contacts with leading Chinese players in the automotive industry. The successful hosting of the EVA showcases the remarkable results of an exemplary network expansion of our Chinese colleagues with leading regional partners onsite. It is the next strategic step for the Automechanika brand, and other Automechanika trade fairs will also integrate the EVA into their show."

Mr Wang Xia, Chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Automotive Sub-council said: “As global warming and environmental challenges intensify, more and more countries are dedicated to low-carbon development. Currently, 196 countries (including the EU) have ratified the Paris Climate Agreement, which outlines a commitment to carbon neutrality. Adhering to the concept of sustainable development, we sincerely invite Chinese and international auto industry giants, investors, dealers, technical experts, mainstream automotive media and car buffs to participate in this event. By collective efforts, let's contribute to the creation of a sustainable automotive ecosystem, promote mutually beneficial cooperation among enterprises, and facilitate win-win collaboration.  Through the concurrent hosting of the Electric Vehicle Expo at this year's Automechanika Frankfurt, we hope to provide European auto markets and industry professionals with an in-depth understanding of China's rapid transition from a market dominated by traditional automobiles to the market in favor of electric vehicles. In particular, our goal also sets to further enhance the visibility and popularity of Chinese electric vehicle brands in overseas markets.”

Electromobility is more than just a new drive system. A market for software and electronic components has developed in parallel to the development of electromobility under the buzzwords autonomous, connected, electric and shared (ACES). This market has recorded annual growth of 15 per cent since 2020 and is expected to reach a volume of USD 469 billion by 2030. It offers products for all vehicle categories. Software companies and manufacturers of electronic components are already represented at Automechanika Frankfurt. Only in this innovative area over 150 exhibitors will be presenting their products and solutions from the Electrics & Electronics and Connectivity & Autonomous Driving product groups. The presentation of the world-renowned Automechanika Innovation Awards in nine categories is once again eagerly awaited on the first fair day.

The Future Mobility Park, an innovative test and experience course on the Agora outdoor exhibition area, offers Chinese manufacturers the opportunity to present their electric vehicles to international trade visitors and invite them to test drives.

Automechanika Frankfurt will take place from 10 to 14 September 2024. This year's highlights include the presentation of the renowned Automechanika Innovation Awards, a special show Workshop 4.0, new mobility solutions in the Outdoor Future Mobility Park, the latest in accident repair and claims management, networking areas on the topics of circular economy, remanufacturing, e-commerce, classic business and much more.
