Founded in 1999, the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) includes as its founding members the automotive industry associations from five major automotive nations: AIAG (USA), ANFIA (Italy), FIEV (France), SMMT (UK), and VDA (Germany), along with several leading vehicle manufacturers. The IATF is renowned for its certification schemes and rules. It has established a unified language for quality management across the global automotive supply chain. Its certifications are widely recognized by numerous major vehicle manufacturers worldwide and serve as a key benchmark for quality assurance when entering the international automotive supply chain.

BYD's accession is expected to have a profound impact on the global automotive industry. It not only signifies the Chinese automotive industry's transition from "quantitative accumulation" to "technological leadership" but also validates BYD's core strengths as a world champion in the new energy vehicle sector.
